I have very cold hands

Tax season is upon us which = yuck when you don't get your taxes taken out and a nice W-2. Hopefully this is the last year of that...

I am simultaneously happy that the weekend is almost here and aghast that the weeks are flying by and running into each other.

I need to learn how to better sit and drive in the car. Somehow, the way I am sitting makes my back really hurt. After the 45 minute drive home from work and the 30 minute drive up to Deerfield to pick up Wade last night, it was killing me! Of course, I have no pain tolerance at all...

Tonight is Chinese and the Office night. Always a good time.

I am getting excited about our planned spring travels.

The other night I suddenly decided I was too worn out to read any of the books I have from the library and instead started reading The Diary of Anne Frank. I love that little book. Rereads of books one loves holds so much charm...

Today I realized that Greta's hands are one of the most astounding things in the world. Seriously, babies have such magical and beautiful little hands.

Naptime and Oatmeal for lunch

Watching figure skating this weekend was rather brilliant. I liked it a lot. And the Olympics are next year! (Wow)

Wade and I met Melissa at Peet's Coffee last night. We had never been there, but the drinks were actually really good. Better than Starbucks for sure. The atmosphere however was rather meh...a little to corporate perhaps?

This is what Wade and I do when we visit a coffee shop--grade the drinks and the atmosphere. Snobs we are...

So I've been thinking.....

Some things I hope for.....

_Run a least three times a week once there's no snow and ice on the ground.
_Buy a yoga dvd and start learning it.
_Read lots of books. Including more non fiction.
_Live in Portland, OR.
_Go on a weekend trip with B&K this spring.
_Work in a daycare/preschool again.
_Ride my bike more places this spring and summer.
_Go on a Chicago walk with Melissa.
_Go on a Chicago walk with Kate.
_Go to the Chicago history museum, the photography museum, The Museum of Natural History, and the Botanical Gardens with Wade.
_Travel to: England, Boston, San Fransisco, and PEI (there are way more places, but this is my realistic list).
_Have three babies (not for at least two years).
_Adopt a child from overseas.
_Swim in the Pacific ocean.
_See Death Cab for Cutie in concert.
_Go skiing with Wade. And have him not get hurt.

That's all I can think of for now...

Friday Night

It's Friday night. I have been babysitting all day. I am a spending my Friday night babysitting. Thankfully, Wade came with me. So really, we get to hang out while children are sleeping and get paid. Mia and Greta were already asleep when we got here, which makes me kind of sad because I miss them....I saw them yesterday....
Also, Greta has a tooth.
And Mia is starting to walk.
And Charlie announces to the world when I go to the bathroom, "Kelly's going potty!"
Life never ceases to amaze.

Espresso drinks made with soy milk get colder faster than regular milk...

I'm reading the novel "Sister Carrie" and really liking it.

I discovered that the U.S. National figure skating championships are on nbc this weekend and I'm quite stoked to watch them...and probably will cry for the bygone Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen era (yes we all know that Sasha was a choker, but she was still completely breathtaking to watch). Hmmm...little sidetrack on figure skating over...

It's the weekend.
Thank goodness!

I really like the word "tis." Why don't we use it anymore?

This is for Beth who inspired me who was inspired by Kate who this is for also

Can I just rant for a second about something the wonderful people of Chicago do in the winter?
They save parking spots (street parking) with lawn chairs, stools, children's outdoor play equipment, and other various items. So, when you look for a parking spot there often won't be any available, not because there are cars in all the spots, but because there is giant pile of snow in the way (which is understandable) or an above mentioned item in the way (which is not understandable). I could just move the item, but since living in Chicago our car has acquired a nice scratch across the passenger's side door, a huge chunk out of our front grill, and has also been vomited on (all from being left parked on the street). All this to say, I would be rather scared of what a person who meant to reserve a parking space might do to my car if I park in "their" spot. Ugh. What kind of arrogant people think they are entitled to have a particular spot on the public street to park in?

Maybe you shouldn't rant this much on you very first blog post?
I really am in a lovely mood today.
