Can I just rant for a second about something the wonderful people of Chicago do in the winter?
They save parking spots (street parking) with lawn chairs, stools, children's outdoor play equipment, and other various items. So, when you look for a parking spot there often won't be any available, not because there are cars in all the spots, but because there is giant pile of snow in the way (which is understandable) or an above mentioned item in the way (which is not understandable). I could just move the item, but since living in Chicago our car has acquired a nice scratch across the passenger's side door, a huge chunk out of our front grill, and has also been vomited on (all from being left parked on the street). All this to say, I would be rather scared of what a person who meant to reserve a parking space might do to my car if I park in "their" spot. Ugh. What kind of arrogant people think they are entitled to have a particular spot on the public street to park in?
Maybe you shouldn't rant this much on you very first blog post?
I really am in a lovely mood today.
